Barbara Jean Troutman

> April 3, 1943 - July 26, 2014 Mrs. Barbara Jean Troutman, 71, of Statesville, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014. She was born in Alexander County to the late Bertha Mae and Parks Leroy Cockrell. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed her daily walks and attending church. She was also an avid Carolina Tar Heels fan. She is survived by her son, William Baxter (Samantha) Troutman of Statesville; daughters, Amy (Gordon) Chappell of Denver and Kelly Moore of Statesville; brother, Tommy Cockrell of Stony Point; grandchildren, Josh (Stephanie) Benfield, Justin (Kimberly) Benfield, Kasey Gregory, David Ray, Baxter Troutman, Kamryn Moore, Zackary Troutman, Adam Troutman and an expectant who will be her ninth grandchild; and great-grandchildren, Josiah Benfield and Elaina Gregory. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Statesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Beau Mills officiating. Interment will follow the service at Iredell Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 2306 Buffalo Shoals Road, Statesville, NC 28677.
