Barbara June Nelson

Barbara June Nelson, 88, of Statesville, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Barbara was born on June 16, 1938, in Carroll County, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late Henry Lee Nelson and Effie May Hundley.

Left to cherish Barbara’s memory are her daughters, Debra Frye and Tammy Slone, and her son, Mitchell Warrick, as well as three grandchildren, Ricky Ciampanella, Eric Ciampanella (Caroline), Alex Slone (Anne); three great grandchildren, Tyler Ciampanella, Bryson Slone, and Cecilia Ciampanella; her twin sister, Betty Sebastian, and her brother James (Jimmy) Nelson.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Dillon Slone along with numerous brothers and sisters.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, September 1, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Troutman Funeral Home.
