Barbara Hillard

Barbara Rose Brown Hillard, 89, of Statesville, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at Trinity Ridge in Hickory, NC.

Barbara was born April 24, 1934 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Willie Daniel Brown and Katie Warren Brown Beaver. She was a graduate of Cool Springs High School and on October 23, 1955, she married the late Pressley Bost Hillard, who passed away January 19, 2022. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Statesville and was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Crawford (Robert), two sons, Ron Hillard (Billie), Kendall Hillard (Lara); four grandchildren, Jennifer Cranford (Phillip), Stephen Crawford, Megan Huffman (Brett) and Curtis Hillard (Misty). Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Blake Cranford, Jaxon Cranford, Kayla Cranford, Dylan Cranford; one brother, David Beaver and a sister-in-law, Margie Beaver.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five sister, Mary Money, Eloise Upright, Betty Hager, Bina McHargue, Kathleen Evans and one brother, William Brown.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Troutman Funeral Home with Rev. John Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 1:00-2:00pm before the service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Doctors and staff at Trinity Ridge for their love and support for their mother.
