Audrey Hedrick

Audrey Sue Collins Hedrick, 75, of Huntersville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville. Audrey was born in Iredell County on February 2, 1935 to the late Dewey Glenn and Gertrude Winecoff Collins. She was a native of Troutman and graduated from Troutman High School and Lenoir Rhyne University, class of 1957. She was an office manager of John Hancock Financial Services. Audrey was a life long Lutheran. She was a long time member of Incarnation Lutheran Church in Charlotte and Community In Christ Lutheran Church in Cornelius where she was very active in the women’s organizations. Audrey was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening, sports, the ocean and her many cats. She was also a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Vernon Hedrick, of Huntersville; two adoring children, Eric Hedrick and wife, Teresa, of Greenville, SC and Julie Forbes and husband, Daniel, of Jersey City, NJ; and grandchildren, Weston and Warren Forbes. A service to celebrate Audrey’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman with the Rev. Carl Yost of Community in Christ Lutheran Church and Audrey’s former pastor the Rev. Dr. Jay Harbinson officiating. Interment will be at Iredell Memorial Park in Statesville. The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity prior to the service from noon until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community In Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund, 7621 Norman Island Dr., Cornelius, NC 28031. The Hedrick family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Presbyterian Hospital for the tender care given to Audrey.
