Ashley Coite Pope

Ashley Coite Pope, 50, of Statesville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Ashley was born on January 11, 1971 in Catawba County, NC and was the son of Betty Pope and the late Coite Lee Pope. He was a member at New Bethany Baptist Church and taught at Iredell County Schools in the Automotive Technical Center. He greatly loved his wife of twenty-four years, his mother and his beloved pets. Ashley enjoyed cheering on Duke basketball and working on his classic cars.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melinda Keller Pope, siblings, David Pope (Martha), Paulette Doss (Charles), Bobby Pope (Margie), Teresa P. Fox and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by friends and family.

A visitation will be held at 11:30 to 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 16 at Beulah Baptist Church with service to following at 1:00 pm with Rev. Bill Mason officiating. Burial will follow the service at New Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Please follow all COVID 19 protocol when inside.
