Angie Nesbit Newton

Angie Nesbit Newton, 87, of 230 Old Murdock Road, Troutman, passed away peacefully Monday, July 19, 2010 at Brian Center of Statesville. Born in Iredell County on October 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie M. and Frances Lee Bass Nesbit. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Jake" Newton; five brothers, Lynn, Thomas, Henry, Bobby and Billy Nesbit; and five sisters, Rubie N. Oswalt, Rachel N. Brantley, Mary N. Patterson, Lois N. Graham and Lelia S. Nesbit. She is survived by two sons, Eric Newton (Vicky) of Troutman and Kim Newton (Paula) of Lenoir; three grandchildren, Aaron Newton (Melissa) of Raleigh, Bryan Newton of Mooresville, and Samantha Newton of Lenoir; three sisters, Bea N. Reardon of Queensbury, NY, Betty N. Smith of Troutman, and Aileen N. Robbins of Statesville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Nesbit was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a member of New Perth A.R.P. Church in Troutman and worked approximately 27 years with Fox-Mullis Insurance Company and then Webb/BBT. A memorial service celebrating the life of Angie Nesbit Newton will held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010 at New Perth A.R.P. Church in Troutman with the Rev. William Anderson and the Rev. Robert Sherer officiating. Visitation will follow in the church parlor. A private burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to New Perth A.R.P.
