Mr. Alvin Gale Campbell, 84, of Statesville, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015.
Alvin was born on June 20, 1931 to the late Fay Faw and Quincey Campbell. He was married and dedicated to his dear wife, Charlotte Rosebrook Campbell, for 55 years.
Alvin was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved his family and especially enjoyed time spent with his three children. He loved his home and the state in which he lived and told many stories of his younger days hiking from Charlotte back to his home in the mountains. He worked as an accountant for a window manufacturer before his retirement. He was a Godly man who dearly loved his church and its members and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sons, Michael A. (Ronda) Campbell, Sr. of Statesville amd Wayne D. (Peggy) Campbell of Cramerton; sister, Dot (Hal) Colverd of West Jefferson; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte and daughter, Sandra.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Andrea Conder officiating.
