Allen Estes

James Allen Estes, 81, of Statesville, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Allen was born in Iredell County on March 28, 1943, to the late Burley Columbus Estes and Ethel Mae Wellman Estes. He retired from Burlington Industries.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Lee Estes, Bobby Wayne Estes, and Floyd Overcash.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Janice Miller Estes; sons, Jeffrey “Jeff” Allen Estes (Tracey), and Matthew “Matt” Burton Estes (Christy); stepdaughter, Kinnan Johnson (Ken); grandchildren, Bailey Estes, Jay Estes, Walker Estes, Salem Estes, Kezlan Johnson (Jessica), and Kami Johnson Gregory (Caleb); great grandchild, Isaiah Lane Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 25 at 2:00 pm at South River Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Chris Thompson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
