Alice Claire Warren

Alice Claire Warren was born on February 22, 2024, to Danielle and Mack Warren. Alice was born with a heart defect called hypoplastic left heart syndrome at Duke. From the very beginning of her life, Alice showed all of us her strength and courage, inspiring thousands of people around the country. Alice successfully completed two of the three major repair surgeries on her heart, spending 90 days in the PCICU at Duke during her first year of life, but was taken home to Heaven a couple years before she could grow old enough for the third surgery.

Alice was an amazing example of joy in the face of adversity, and she showed strength and resilience throughout her short, but happy life. Alice had an amazing quality of life, spending her days with family and friends, traveling with her family, and not letting her heart hinder her. Alice was loved by and loved a number of people that would be impossible to quantify.

Alice is survived by her parents, her sister Ella, and her brother Abraham, as well as innumerable tightly knit and involved extended family members. Alice loved basil and peppermint plants, and shredded cheese by the handful. Alice’s favorite activities were playing with Ella and Abraham, swinging on the playground, riding the four-wheeler with her parents, going for walks in her stroller, and eating snacks.

Alice passed away unexpectedly at home on September 2, 2025. Funeral services will be held at Troutman Funeral home at 3:00pm on Monday, September 8, 2025, with Rev. Michael Pharr officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
