Alice Laughlin (Henderson) Combs

Alice Henderson Laughlin Combs, 85, of Union Grove, passed away, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Combs was born April 2, 1935 in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late L.C. Henderson and Josephine Mitchell Henderson. She was a graduate of Union Grove Schools and Kings Business College in Charlotte. She was a lifetime member of Union Grove United Methodist Church and was married to the late Rayford Gray Combs. She loved her flowers, cats, her family and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Steven Henderson Laughlin of Monroe, GA, Daniel C. Laughlin (Kristina) of Madison, GA; four grandchildren, Joshua, Tucker, Denver and Savannah Laughlin; one sister, Evelyn Henderson Connor of Union Grove; one nephew, Jerry Osborne (Paulette); one niece, Linda Dowell (Tommy) and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Myra H. Osborne, an infant brother, William Henderson and her first husband, Benjamin Franklin Laughlin.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Union Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Neill Shaw officiating. Mrs. Combs will lie in state on Thursday from 1:00-2:00pm at the church.
