William Adam Wooten

May 24, 1983 — December 24, 2020

Statesville

Forever remembered by his infectious smile and servants’ heart, William Adam Wooten went to be with Jesus on December 24, 2020 at the age of 37.

Adam made a statement into this world weighing 10 pounds 4 ounces on May 24, 1983. He was born in Iredell County and was the son of Ronnie and Ann Wooten of Statesville. He was a graduate of North Iredell High School, Mitchell Community College and Garner Webb University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in science. He was a first-degree black belt, an accomplishment he was most proud of at an early age. He married Erin Parker Wooten and together they had two daughters, Kinsley Mae Wooten and Abigail Quinn Wooten.

During his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and hanging out with friends and family. He was well known for his impressive story telling and ability to remember movie lines! He followed in his dad’s footsteps working for Energy United in the propane division and was recently promoted to senior account manager at Thompson Gas. But many will remember his charming personality as a server at Carolina BBQ, Logan’s and Twisted Oak. Whether you had the pleasure of having him entertain your table while taking your order or hang out with you after the place closed.

In addition to his parents and wife, Adam is survived by two daughters, Kinsley Mae Wooten and Abigail Quinn Wooten; two sisters, Melani W. McCulloch (Matt) of Cornelius, Stephanie W, Zboyovski (James) of Raleigh; three nephews, Maximus and Mylo McCulloch, Will Zboyovski; one niece, Eva Zboyovski; maternal grandmother, Oleatha Goodin and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00pm Monday, December 28, 2020 at Hams Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. James Bumgarner officiating. Adam will lie in state at Hams Grove Baptist Church from 11:00-2:00pm on Monday.

Adam’s ability to light up a room coupled with his witty humor and charismatic personality made him loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Making others feel like the most important person in the room was a genuine talent. His light was bright, addicting and one of a kind. His presence will truly be missed!
