Thomas Patrick Sanders, 94, died peacefully on December 5, 2022, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, SC.

Tom served proudly in both the Army and the Air Force prior to 1955 when he met and married the love of his life, Betty.  He never used the term stepchildren, as he loved and provided for the two, she brought from a previous marriage just as he did for the two children they had together.   He worked for Southern Bell for 35 years, and he enjoyed fishing, traveling and time with his family.  He lived in Charlotte, Mooresville, and Oak Island, NC, finally moving back “up this way” to Clover near the children in 2008. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in York, SC.

His wife Betty, survived him by 2 months. He is also survived by son Steve Sanders (Cynthia), daughters Sherry Adams (Johnny), Leigh Ann Nichols (Steve) and Patricia Thompson, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Oscar Samuel Sanders and Annie Lee Gordon Sanders, his brother, Sam Sanders, and two grandchildren.

A graveside service for Betty and Tom will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, 114 N Oakwood Drive, Statesville, NC 28677 on March 11, 2023 at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Moped to Memphis for St. Jude’s, c/o 106 Patterson St., Clover, SC  29710.
