Joyce Susan (Hedrick) Pestlin

Joyce Susan Hedrick Pestlin, 67, of Statesville passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024, in her home.

Joyce was born on July 20, 1957, in Statesville to JW Hedrick and Mary Evelyn Johnston Hedrick. She attended and was the first graduating class of West Iredell High School in 1975. She later worked for Iredell County School Systems in the lunchroom. Joyce was married to James Pestlin on July 21, 1975, and was a great wife and mother who loved to cook. And for many years, she was a member of Eufola Baptist Church.

In addition to her father, Joyce was preceded in death by her sister, Lori Stewart Hedrick and her brother-in-law, Ray Marvin Stewart.

Those left to cherish the memory of Joyce are her husband, James Russel Pestlin; sons, Jeffrey Ryan Pestlin and Jameson Lee Pestlin; daughter, Victoria Elaine Pestlin; mother, Mary Hedrick; sister, Cindy Diane Sigmon; brother, Lee Eric Hedrick; and nieces and nephews, Michael Blake Thorne, Jessica Rose Hester, Stephanie Cedillons, and Emily Stewart.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 on Tuesday July 23, 2024, at Troutman Funeral Home. The family will meet with friends prior to the service from 1:30-2:00. Burial will follow the service at 3:00 at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
