James "Jim" Price Horn, 74, of Troutman, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem. He was born in Iredell County on April 18, 1936 to the late John and Katie Lou Montgomery Horn. He was married to the late Patricia Alice Williams Horn, who preceded him in death in November 2002. Jim served his country in the U.S. Army, sold insurance, managed Dart’s Department Store in Troutman and was self employed selling auto parts. He was a kind, fun-loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to read and spend time with his family and friends. He is survived by five daughters, Lynn H. Hoover, Kay H. Brown (Tommy), Karen H. Lail (Doug), Karol H. Leaptrott (Jeff), and Katheryn H. Rogers (Curt), all of Troutman; three sisters, Judy Church of Winston-Salem, Jane Riley of Statesville, and Jackie Gibson of Clemmons; three brothers, John Horn (Joanne), of Charlotte, Joe Horn (Martha) and Jeff Horn (Carolyn), both of Statesville; thirteen grandchildren, Matthew Lail (Kristen), Ryan Lail, Sarah Beth Rogers (Ryan), Casey and Callie Hoover, Russ, Zach, and James Leaptrott, Kendall and Clay Brown, Max, Sara, and Chad Rogers, and one great grandchild, Anna Lail. Funeral services celebrating the life of Jim Horn will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Troutman Baptist Church with the Rev. David Comer, the Rev. Don Ingles, and the Rev. Dr. Paul Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory, NC.
