Ella Sue (Caudill) Miller

Ella Sue Caudill Miller, 84 of Statesville, passed away at her home, Monday, July 17, 2023.

Mrs. Miller was born in Ashe County, on June 7, 1939, the daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt Caudill and Emma Rose Caudill.  Sue was a graduate of Jefferson High School and had been married to her beloved husband, Dennis Miller, for more than 65 years.  She was a salesclerk with Woolworth Department Store and an active member of Concord Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder.  Sue was an excellent cook, and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, which she loved dearly.  Sue was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ!  She taught her family to love Him as well.

Along with her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Jerry Caudill, her sister, Linda Caudill Roten and her brothers in law, Pete Ernst and Jim Walker.

Those left to cherish the life and legacy of Sue Miller include her husband, Dennis, her son, Dr. Michael (Pam) Miller, her daughter, Karen O’Keefe, her grandchildren, Matthew (Brittany) Miller, Krystle (Zack) Smith, Kristen (Nick) O’Keefe, Dr. Andrew (Mikayla) O’Keefe, and Karena (Deante) Scott, her great grandchildren, Finnlee, Farrah, Macoy, River, Brant, Bodie, Ridge, Timber, Ayla, Kayden, and Kailani, her sisters, Shirley Walker, Grace Ernst, JoAnn (Russ) Phinder, her brother in law, Ernest Roten, sister in law, Betty Caudill and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22 at 4:00 pm at Troutman Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service, 3:00 to 4:00 pm.
