David Christie

David Milton Christie, 87, of Troutman, NC passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at his home residence. He was born on March 8, 1937, in Iredell County to the late Samuel A. Christie and Virginia Church Christie.

He graduated from Statesville Senior High School and served in the army. He later married his wife, Betty Dyson Christie, who survives. David worked for Taylor Salt and Chemical, Georgia Pacific, Brownell Electric Corporation, and ended his career at BI-LO.

He was a great Sunday School teacher and was the chairman of deacons in many churches where he served.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, David M. Christie, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Dyson Christie; his son, Douglas Allen Christie (Louise); his sister, Beatrice “Ann” Coffey; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm, Friday, July 5, 2024, in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Parks officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
