Michael “Wheatie” Andrew Campbell, 53, of Statesville, passed away, Thursday, February 28, 2019 at his home.
Mike was born January 29, 1966 in Mocksville, NC and was the son of the late James Thomas Campbell, Sr. and Vallie Brown Campbell. He was a graduate of Statesville High School, class of 1985 and Catawba Valley Community College and he served honorably in the US Navy from 1986-1989. He worked for Statesville Glass & Mirror and attended Life Church. He loved gardening, cooking, posting his food dishes on social media, camping with the AMMWCT Group, target shooting with his brother and nephews and was well loved by anybody he came into contact with.
He is survived by one brother, James “Jim” T. Campbell, Jr. and wife, Sandy of Statesville, one sister, Anne Campbell of England, two nephews, Christian Campbell of Statesville, Solman “Solo” Chishtiof England, a niece, Marriam Chishti of England and his beloved companion, Ziggy.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Iredell County Veterans Burial Detail. The family will receive friends Monday evening 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Sandra McSwain, Harold Yount, Lee Marlow, Kirk Sherrill, Skeet Ham, Steven Eagle and Lee Head.
